To end their first week at Dovecot Studios, ATW weavers Karlie, Leith and Sophie were taken on a Dovecot tapestry tour around central Edinburgh by Apprentice Weaver Ben Hymers.

The weavers visited various local organisations that house pieces created by the Dovecot Tapestry Studio, such as the Writers’ Museum, Scottish Poetry Library, Festival Theatre and the National Museum of Scotland. The works viewed were designed by Victoria Crowe, Ian Hamilton Finlay, Graham Sutherland, Archie Brennan, David Poston, Barbara Rae and Bruce McLean.

‘’It was good to explore the city and discover Dovecot’s heritage on show – it was especially great to see the social significance of the Large Tree Group tapestry displayed for all to see.’’
