Laura Reid is a Scottish glass artist based in Edinburgh, working on both cast and blown forms, with a specific interest in cold working and engraving techniques.
She recently graduated with a BA (Hons) in Glass from Edinburgh College of Art where her degree show work won the Scottish Glass Society student of the year award. Reid’s current work explores Scottish mythology and the ways in which engraving and light can be used to tell stories.
The majority of her work is cut using wheels and a flexible drive drill for finer detail. She is inspired by nature, puppetry, magical realism, illustration and light.
