Wil Sideman was born and raised in New England. Spending the early years of his life on a farm in central Maine, Sideman later moved to Boston Massachusetts where he studied for his Bachelors of Fine Arts at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
Focusing in glass, he continued to work in this field after receiving his BFA, working for studios throughout the Boston area such as Studio Bel Vetro, Eye Think INC., Ross Art Studio as well as the NOCA Glass School. He has received scholarships from and attended workshops at Pilchuck Glass School, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts and The Penland School of Crafts.
He was awarded the student scholarship for the Glass Arts Society Conference in Louisville Kentucky and studied at Cam Ocagi (The Glass Furnace) outside of Istanbul Turkey, all before attending the Rochester Institute of Technology for his Masters degree in glass. In 2013 Wil Sideman will receive his Masters of Fine Arts from the Rochester Institute of technology
