Work is underway on an outstanding new limited edition print by Australian artist Emily Floyd. The work, ‘Abstract Labour’, was developed during Emily’s one-month residency at Dundee Contemporary Arts Print Studio last year. Further information on this work, and a preview image, is available on the Below another sky website.
Below another sky
Below another sky is an international residency programme to support new work in print, commissioned by the Scottish Print Network. 10 artists from Scotland and 10 from Commonwealth countries will take part. The programme is complemented by a series of exhibitions, workshops and events during 2013 and 2014.
Both Fahd Burki (Pakistan) and Emily Floyd (Australia) have now produced new limited edition prints as a result of their 2013 Below another sky residencies!
Scottish artists – including Claire Barclay, Jim Lambie, Robert Orchardson and David Shrigley – are now also developing new work in print with the five print studios. Further details and images are available at the Below another sky website and blog!
Eight artists based in Scotland have now undertaken their residencies through the Scottish Print Network’s Below another sky programme, visiting Antigua, Bangladesh, Canada, India and New Zealand. Christine Borland will travel to Malawi in May this year.
Four of the international artists working on this project, and based in Australia, India and Pakistan, have so far visited Scotland to work with Print Studios in Edinburgh, Glasgow and Inverness. We are looking forward to welcoming six more artists to work with us this year in all five of the studios!
Below another sky has its own website! Please visit www.belowanothersky.org for details on the artists, the print studios and all the related exhibitions, events and workshops that will take place during 2013 and 2014.
